Industry Involvement
Midtown Area Realtors Association — Member since 1998; Vice President, 2004 The association promotes stronger working relationships among real estate agents, industry affiliates, and the Columbus community, supporting numerous community organizations through membership dues and fundraising.
Women's Council of Realtors — 2006 – 2009; Events Planning Committee An organization dedicated to helping members feel supported, informed, and empowered through meaningful programming, stronger connections, and opportunities to grow their business and industry influence.
Community Leadership
Downtown Residents' Association of Columbus (DRAC) — Member since 2004; Board of Directors since 2005; currently President A longtime advocate for downtown living, I joined DRAC to help promote urban life in Columbus and showcase the best of living, working, and playing downtown. I have served as Membership Chair and, for the past two years, as Mistress of Ceremonies for the annual DRACie Awards, a tongue-in-cheek recognition of downtown development.
Landmarks Foundation — Board Member, 2008 – 2011 Columbus's premier preservation organization for historic landmarks, dedicated to recognizing and saving our most beloved historic buildings for future generations.
City Hop — Participant 2006 – 2009; Co-Chair 2007, 2008, 2009 City Hop is the Landmarks Foundation's annual fundraising event — a one-day open house featuring all new downtown condominium developments. The event draws 1,500 to 2,000 attendees each year and continues to grow, introducing more people to the vitality of downtown Columbus.
CASA — Court Appointed Special Advocates — Board Member and Volunteer Advocate Trained to advocate for children's rights as they move through the Juvenile Court System. The 40-hour training covered understanding the court system, investigating each child's home and school situation, and advocating in court for determinations in the child's best interest.
Women's Opportunity Fund — Member Traveled to Bogotá, Colombia to help empower women launching their own businesses through micro-lending. Loans as small as fifty dollars made the difference in feeding families, educating children, and lifting households out of poverty.
Mayor Coleman's Columbus 2012 Commission — Member, Downtown Revitalization Committee The commission was established to help celebrate the 2012 Columbus Bicentennial. Our committee was charged with bringing forward five ideas to make downtown Columbus more dynamic.
Awards
Dan Goldman Community Award, 2008 Coldwell Banker's community service award, presented for outstanding work in the community — specifically my work with high-risk families and young adults through St. Stephen's Community Center.
